UKRAINIAN Saturday SCHOOL

A place where the Ukrainian language comes to life, culture and traditions

UKRAINIAN Saturday SCHOOL
This is a place where the Ukrainian language, culture, and traditions come to life.
We bring together children and adults who value maintaining a connection to their Ukrainian roots, or who are discovering them for the very first time.
Here, we warmly welcome both those who already speak Ukrainian and those who are just starting their journey to learn it.
You don't just study here - you find friends, support, and a true sense of community. We create a space where children and parents can grow together, connect, and immerse themselves in Ukrainian culture through real-life interaction, events, and creativity.
Our goal is to provide every student with a warm, inspiring environment where they are eager to learn and grow.
We support everyone at their own level, help them unleash their potential, and carefully pass down Ukrainian traditions - from the little ones to adults.

Socialization and community

VOLUNTEERING FOR UKRAINE: WARMTH AT A DISTANCE
We teach our children not only language and traditions but also the value of helping one another. Our school is about more than just education - it's about having a big heart. That is why our community takes part in a special initiative: we regularly collect and send care packages to orphanages in Ukraine.
The most precious part is that every little sweater or pair of socks in these parcels is hand-knitted with care and love by local Canadians. This is an incredible display of solidarity, and local knitters sincerely want to share their warmth with Ukrainian little ones.
Our students and parent volunteers help sort, pack, and ship these items, building a true bridge of support between Canada and Ukraine. By taking part in this process, children learn empathy and responsibility, and they come to understand that even a small act can bring warmth to someone's life.
How to get involved: You can help us with logistics, covering postage costs, packing, or simply by donating yarn for our Canadian knitters.
Together, we can do more!

PARTNERS AND FRIENDS
Building a school is a great journey, and it is one that is much easier to navigate together. We are immensely grateful to everyone who helps us:
-
To our local friends: the businesses and residents of Truro who provide resources and help us organize events.
-
To our educational mentors: the Ukrainian School in Ontario. Thank you for your tremendous support, guidance, and shared experience. Knowing that we have such a strong community standing behind us is a huge motivation!
